Makeup Love, Personal Update & The New Blog

I’m not totally sure where to begin this post. Things have been hectic (as always) but i’ m feeling so good about 2013. I’ve been waiting a while for this year to come around. I won’t go into great detail about that, as I plan on posting more about it on the new blog: www.CortneySalerno.com.

The new blog isn’t necessarily “brand new”, but it’s been sitting idle while i’ve been brainstorming ideas. I hadn’t been completely sure what I wanted for the site specifically. Luckily i’ve got that question answered and we’re just fine tuning the design. CortneySalerno.com is going to be a database for all of my Projects & Blogs. CS.com is intended to be more “personal” and less edited. You can find out what is going on with me personally and what new venture i’m on to next.

I wanted to write an apology to those of you whom I haven’t been able to respond to as of late. I still have your comments and messages, i’ve just been stretched SO thin lately. I will be getting back to all of you shortly though- don’t give up on me <3

3 Beauty Essentials for Summer

I have to admit that so far the weather has been much less extreme here in Southern California than it was last summer (knock on wood!). But as most of you know, keeping your face pristine can be challenging even in the most ideal weather. Here are the 3 essentials you need to keep a fresh face this summer:

Primer: This is an indespensable tool for a flawless face. Most primers help protect your makeup from even the most humid of days. If you’re planning a day at the beach, don’t apply your makeup without this secret weapon. I recommend this primer by Smashbox.

Waterproof Mascara: You never know when the heat is going to hit at an all-time-high and we all know that oily eyelids can drag your makeup down big time. And let’s face it- none of us really want to look like a member from KISS.

Favorite Lipgloss or Lipstick: This is your opportunity to add a pop of color to your face without taking too much time out of your morning routine. When you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to grab the eyeshadow, reach for the nearest lipgloss. Oh, and did I mention- Lip products tend to last a long time regardless of the weather outside

Honey and Champaign

These are fantastic colors to go with any complexion or hair color. You can also play up or dress down these shades for a night out or a lunch date in the afternoon.

Classic Barbie Pink

This shade just doesn’t go out of style for me. I swear I like it on everyone… not just blondes with super awesome cars and boyfriends named Ken ;P

Corals

Perfect for the classy lady or spunky girl who is always on the go. Corals can be matched with many different fashion patterns and prints. It’s really flexible if you experiment a little with it.

Magentas and Dark Pinks

These colors are so rad for the girl next door (with just a little something to hide) look

Oranges and Peaches

Not to be mistaken for coral shades, these are a little bit rarer to be seen worn. I have no idea why, because these are great colors that compliment many complexions. Especially fun on those with peaches & cream complexions!

Liptini Lip & Cheek Tint Review

This was the first product i’ve used from Liptini and i’m really impressed. As you can see from the photo and from my video (if you checked out the vlog review), this is a really bold color- perfect for spring and summer. I know for some it might seem intimidating to wear a bright garnet on your lips, but the time is now to be brave and try new things!

I loved the smooth and dry consistency of this. When I first selected it, I expected it to be more of a gloss but it wasn’t. This actually reminds me of many Stila lip products. It goes on very dry, similar to lipstick- but even dryer. This might not sound very appealing to most people, but don’t think of dry like sand paper, it feels more like a lip primer. Very similar texture to the Too Faced Lip Insurance.
